Growing tuberous begonias is easy with our Daffodil Begonia Planting Kit!

7 Simple Steps to plant a begonia with our Daffodil Begonia Planting Kit

  1. Open box, remove all components.
  2. Pour soil into pot up to first ridge line, Leave remaining soil in bag for later.
  3. Locate tuber, identify top – con-caved side up and or with pink sprouts, place on top of soil.
  4. Pour remaining soil from bag over tuber, covering top with approx. ½-1” of soil.
  5. Insert picture stake into soil near edge of pot (if desired).
  6. Slowly water in soil – it is alright if sprouts show above soil after watering.
  7. Place in warm bright location, indoors if before last frost.

Final placement: Begonias are an outdoor plant, preferring bright indirect light throughout the day. Acceptable alternatives are as follows:

  1. Dappled sunlight throughout the day under a tree.
  2. Eastern exposure receiving direct sunlight only in the morning hours.
  3. Northern exposure near a reflective light source such as a light colored wall.

*Note: It is best to start in a slightly brighter location and move to a shadier place than the reverse. Moving from shade to sun may result in sun burn.

Environmental conditions and planting date can greatly effect time to bloom. Plants typically will have first flower buds within 12-20 weeks of plant date.
